GE Intelligent Platforms – UVA Bay Game

The only large-scale participatory watershed stewardship simulation of its kind. Learn how you can better manage our most undervalued resource at the 3rd Annual Water Innovations Alliance Conference.
During this ground breaking simulation, players make decisions about their livelihoods and regulatory authority over a 20-year period.  They see first-hand the impact of their decisions on their own financial situation, on the regional economy, and on the Bay’s health.  Early in the gameplay players begin to recognize the need to share information in order to optimize their economic and environmental progress.  As they share information they form collaborative teams, and in that collaboration they forge innovative solutions.  Players competed against real-world data, and their success affirms the power of information and collaboration in exceeding conventional expectations.  In visualizing data about water and stakeholder behavior the UVA Bay Game also reveals untapped opportunities for technology and business process development—opportunities now shared by a diverse group of industry innovators.
